Some say that credibility is the foundation of leadership; others say that it is the soul of leadership.
Anyway we look at it, credibility remains the premier of all the qualities that make for effective and efficient leadership.
However, the erroneous notion that one cannot succeed without explicitly swapping favours has been the home of credible leadership in public offices.
According to Robert Heller, the honest that underpins credibility demands, above all, that willingness to face facts however unpalatable and to move away from denial acceptance of reality and the action it demands.
Gentlemen, we can change the picture; we can do better than our predecessors. The era of mere rhetoric and passing the buck is over. To our leaders and aspiring leaders, we have to be the change we want to see in others.
It was the man of Galilee (the epitome of leadership) who said. “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.”
We can do it, so let’s do it!
We have a great future.
